Unlike wax candles, a Hopi ear candle is actually a hollow cotton tube, impregnated with  100% pure beeswax, honey extracts, sage, st john’s wort, cotton flax  and chamomile . The ingredients have anti-bacterial ,anti-inflammatory,  and astringent properties in them  to  reduce inflammation, relax the nervous system reduce mucus secretions and fight infections. The candles work like a chimney drawing impurities out. Most are burned away but some may be found in the candle wax residue afterwards (there is a filter so no wax can drip into the ear.)
